Roberto Ferrari

Roberto Ferrari holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry, specializing in inorganic-analytical chemistry, from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. After completing his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Zannini on the interactions between ceramic powders and chemical additives, he began his professional career in the ceramics sector. 

Over more than two decades, he has built extensive experience in both inorganic and organic chemistry, working with multinational manufacturers of glazes, pigments, Inkjet inks, ceramic frits, and organic products used across the entire ceramic tile production process. He has held a range of technical roles, developing both operational and managerial expertise. On the operational side, he has worked as a technologist on semi-finished and base products, covering colorimetric and tintometric systems, powder rheology, organic and inorganic binding additives, ceramic glaze formulation, application machinery for ceramic decoration, and the formulation of solvent- and water-based Inkjet inks, as well as the development of organic chemicals for every stage of ceramic tile production. 

On the managerial side, he has held roles including Head of Technical Direction, Application and Product Portfolio Manager, Board Member, R&D Manager, and Technical-Commercial Manager. Throughout his career he has consistently collaborated with research institutions and universities, and has taken part in public innovation funding programmes as well as national and international patents.  

He currently serves as Technical Director of the Ceramics Division at the Lamberti Group and in the Board Member of I.cer.S. (Italian Ceramic Society).
