Marinélia Neto Capela holds a PhD in Biorefineries and is a researcher at the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering of the University of Aveiro and CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials. She holds a degree in Ceramic and Glass Engineering and a Master's degree in Biomedical Materials and Devices, providing her with a multidisciplinary background in advanced materials and their applications.
Her research focuses particularly on renewable materials, sustainability and the circular economy, including the valorisation of waste and secondary raw materials for the development of new materials and ceramic products. She has contributed to several R&D projects and also has previous experience in the research and development department of the ceramics industry, combining academic research with a strong understanding of industrial processes and needs.
