João Labrincha is Full Professor in the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering at the University of Aveiro. He is an expert in ceramic processing and established a research line focused on waste recycling and the sustainable use of resources, while also teaching courses in related fields. He has supervised several PhD and MSc theses, participated in more than 30 R&D projects, nine of them as project leader or principal investigator, and contributed to more than 20 industry-funded or collaborative research contracts.
Labrincha has filed 22 patent applications, including two international PCT applications, and has published more than 420 papers indexed in the Science Citation Index. He has received more than 17,400 citations and has an h-index of 68 (Scopus). He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy and the International Journal of Ceramic Engineering & Science (The American Ceramic Society). He is the author or co-author of eight book chapters and co-editor of seven books. Most recently, he co-authored the book Materiais e Sustentabilidade.
