He has been working in R&D at the Institute since 1988. He is the author of over 180 research articles and more than 200 papers presented at conferences and scientific meetings, a co-inventor on 11 patents, and a contributor to four books. Principal investigator on more than 80 R&D and technology transfer projects funded by ceramics companies, as well as on more than 30 competitive research projects funded by national and international public bodies. His research areas have focused on raw materials, the processing of traditional and advanced ceramic materials, and ceramic coatings. He is currently Deputy Secretary of the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass and a member of the permanent working group WG5 “Materials, Products and Process Innovation” of the European Process4Planet platform. He recently received the 26th Research Award from the Social Council of Jaume I University in the category of “Innovation and Knowledge Transfer”.
