The congress will complete its programme with five keynote lectures and five panel discussions
The International Congress on Ceramics Innovation, IGNITE, will bring together in Castellón on 28 and 29 September some of the research and strategic thinking currently driving the transformation of the global ceramics industry.
The programme will include 35 presentations selected from the submissions received through the international call for papers, together with 15 scientific posters, five keynote lectures, and five panel discussions.
The sessions will be structured around IGNITE’s five core themes: real and competitive decarbonisation; in-depth industrial digitalisation; advanced ceramic materials and their new applications in design and architecture; integral sustainability and industrial circularity; and industrial geopolitics and markets. The organisers expect professionals and specialists connected with 15 countries to take part.
The 35 selected presentations will showcase scientific advances and solutions with potential industrial applications. The programme will address topics including microwave-assisted ceramic firing, the use of hydrogen and biomass, process electrification, kiln energy efficiency and the recovery of waste as new raw materials.
Research will also be presented on the 3D printing of ceramic materials, functional façades, new cladding systems, quality control using acoustic signals and the integration of artificial intelligence.
One of the programme’s main highlights will be the panel discussion ‘The Global Ceramic Powerhouses’, designed to examine how the major international clusters are defining the future of the industry.
The session will take as its starting point a global landscape in which ceramics production exceeds 15 billion square metres per year and the leading clusters play a decisive role.
The five keynote lectures and the remaining panel discussions will complete the programme with contributions from leading experts, offering a global perspective on the technological, economic and geopolitical changes that will shape the sector’s development.
Through this programme, IGNITE aims to establish Castellón as an international meeting point for sharing knowledge, debating the industry’s major challenges and connecting research with the real needs of companies.
