Adrián Quesada

Staff Scientist (CSIC), Coordinator of the European Project BEETHOVEN

About...

Adrián Quesada Michelena holds a PhD and is a researcher at the Institute of Ceramics and Glass (ICV-CSIC), where his work focuses on magnetic materials and permanent magnets. He completed his PhD at the Institute of Applied Magnetism, with research focused on the magnetic properties of ZnO-based materials, and throughout his career he has worked on the synthesis, characterisation and optimisation of advanced magnetic materials.

His current research is particularly focused on the development of more sustainable permanent magnets, reducing or eliminating the use of rare-earth elements and other critical raw materials. He has contributed to European projects including AMPHIBIAN and BEETHOVEN, aimed at developing new magnetic materials for energy and industrial applications. Alongside his scientific work, he serves as Treasurer of the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass (SECV).
