Castellón Chamber of Commerce and SECV (Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass) Forge Strategic Alliance to Strengthen the Scientific Excellence of the IGNITE Congress

Castellón, 6 May 2026.The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Castellón and the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass (SECV) have signed a strategic collaboration agreement aimed at promoting innovation and knowledge transfer within the ceramic industry. The agreement signed by the President of the Chamber, Mª Dolores Guillamón, and the president of the SECV, Miguel Galindo, establishes the Society as a key partner in the organisation of the upcoming International Congress on Ceramics Innovation, IGNITE.

A Scientific Boost for IGNITE

Under the agreement, the SECV will act as technical advisor to the congress. Its responsibilities will include providing strategic guidance on content related to ceramic materials and emerging applications, as well as proposing internationally renowned experts to participate in panel discussions and lectures.

In addition, the SECV will play an active role in the paper selection process through a peer-review system, ensuring the highest scientific standards for the conference.

Mª Dolores Guillamón, President of the Castellón Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of the agreement for the province’s industrial ecosystem, stating that it “reinforces our commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of our companies. With the scientific endorsement of the SECV, we are ensuring that the IGNITE Congress becomes a driving force for

Guillamón also stressed that the alliance reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to “promoting innovation and research, while ensuring that knowledge generated in laboratories is effectively transferred to industry.”

Miguel Galindo, President of the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass, stated that “SECV’s participation in IGNITE represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the connection between science and industry at a key moment for the sector’s evolution. Supporting platforms such as this congress is essential to fostering rigorous dialogue around advanced ceramic materials and their applications, enabling scientific knowledge to translate into real innovation for companies.”

About the IGNITE Congress

The International Congress on Ceramics Innovation IGNITE, organised by the Castellón Chamber of Commerce, will take place on September 28 - 29. The event aims to be the focal point for debate on the future of the sector, addressing technical and sustainability challenges through high-level presentations and collaboration with international experts.
