IGNITE opens ‘Call for Papers’ to Lead Global Ceramics Innovation and Strategy

The paper submission deadline is 31 May 2026

IGNITE, the International Congress on Ceramics Innovation, has officially announced the opening of its call for papers, marking the start of its scientific and strategic program for the next edition. This initiative, led by th Castellón Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services, and Navigation invites researchers, experts and technology companies from around the world to present their most disruptive projects and solutions in a forum designed to transform the global ceramics cluster. The submission period will remain open until 31 May, 2026.

The IGNITE programme is structured around five key pillars that address the sector's current challenges from a comprehensive perspective. The first pillar, Real and competitive decarbonization, focuses on viable electrification, the potential of hydrogen and CO₂ capture, with the key message being how to maintain profitable production in Europe despite energy costs and regulation. This is followed by Deep Industrial Digitalization, where advances in digital twins, artificial intelligence applied to quality and cybersecurity will be discussed, treating data not as a trend but as a real competitive advantage in global markets.

A differentiating pilar of this edition will be Advanced Ceramic Materials and New Applications, exploring technical ceramics, multifunctional surfaces and the integration of products into industrialized construction processes and BIM. This is complemented by Comprehensive Sustainability and Industrial Circularity, where eco-design and the digital product passports are presented as essential conditions for access to international markets. Finally, the congress includes Industrial Geopolitics and Markets, provinding a necessary analysis of competition from global powers such as China and India, tariff policies and critical supply chains, recognizing that technology cannot be separated from the global economic context.

Building on 36 years of shared experience in the sector, the Castellón Chamber of Commerce has evolved the legacy of the World Congress on Ceramic Tile Quality to offer a platform that seeks to ‘Ignite’ the industrial future through knowledge exchange. With the launch of this international call for papers, IGNITE reaffirms itself as the unmissable event for connecting global leaders with the most disruptive technical solutions, positioning Castellón as the epicentre of cutting-edge ceramic strategy and innovation.
